Liberty apple can be grown sprayfree because it is resistant to disease. Its colour is dark red with stripes and a gold background. It is crisp, juicy and tart. On the tree you can see its natural bloom--which is a milky blush (visible before the apple is polished). This apple tends to be flat in shape and moderately sized. We pick it in late March fairly tart because it is irresistible to pukekos.
