Golden Winter Pearmain is an early apple...our two apples fell off this year (2014) in mid January. It has large fruit with crisp flesh and a sweet/sour flavour. It has golden skin and commonly has red stripes. It is also called Kroon Renet, Reine de Reinette, King of the Pippins and Queen of the Pippins. It is known from France in at least 1770 and is useful for eating, pastries and cider.
