A crisp apple with a combination of dark red stripes and red-bronze blush, with a sweet or sweet/tart pineapple flavour. This apple is very juicy and great for eating, juicing or dehydrating. A late season apple, it also keeps well. It was breed in Japan and released for sale in the 1960s, as a Red Delicious and Ralls Janet cross. It can be bland out of a coolstore, so is best eaten tree-ripened and beautifully sweet. We pick them in late April.
